Conco Construction: Building Your Future

Life Enrichment Center

This past fall, Conco completed work on the $2.1 million Life Enrichment Center in El Dorado.  The project was a new facility for Flint Hills Services, which is a non-profit organization that serves local adults with disabilities.  Their existing facility was not only too small, but in poor condition.  The new 25,000 square foot facility will serve adults with developmental disabilities as well as act as a day center. The building also features a large shop area for small assembly tasks such as packing boxes and arts and crafts, as well as a kitchen, administrative area, safe room and a large outdoor patio space.

The building was constructed of CMU block exterior walls, wood trusses and metal stud partition walls and features a unique main entry of large timber trusses that are supported by four massive columns creating a cozy lodge feeling.  The building features a unique color palette with an orange exterior, as well as yellow, lime green and orange interior rooms that the owners feel will inspire and spark their client’s creativity.  The building also features the largest architectural sheet metal roof that Conco has ever installed.  Overall, the owner is very pleased with the building and is preparing to move in.  An open house was held in late December.
